Skrócony opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) The lecture is addressed to students and PhD students who want to expand their knowledge of infrared spectroscopy with issues that go beyond the basic course on spectroscopy - in particular on the use of infrared spectroscopy in the analysis of new materials, biological and forensic sciences. It is advisable for students who are interested in the prospects for the development of applications of infrared spectroscopy. |
Pełny opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) Various measurement techniques are discussed that enable the investigation of standard and non-standard samples including Polarization Modulated Infrared Reflection-Absorption Spectroscopy (PMIRRAS), Attenuated total reflection (ATR), infrared imaging and analysis of infrared maps with necessary elements of chemometrics (principal component analysis for analysis of mixtures), imaging below the diffraction limit (combination of infrared spectroscopy with atomic force microscope), surface enhanced infrared absorption, 2D-IR two-dimensional infrared spectroscopy; application of spectra in the middle, far and near infrared regions. There are basics of chemometric methods for finding common features in a series of spectra. Every experimental technique is discussed along with the theoretical background, experimental procedure and the interpretation of the results. For each technique, example applications are discussed. The lecture covers the intermolecular interactions that influence infrared spectra (hydrogen bonds, interactions of the adsorbate with the surface) and typical spectra of carbon materials, polymers and tissues. The examples come from the scientific literature of the last few years. |
