Założenia (opisowo): | Course conducted in a stationary mode in the IT-lab at the Faculty of Geography and Regional Studies University of Warsaw, 90 hours (taught in two days per week: Mon, Fri - in total 8 hours per week). All students entering the course should be already experienced in ArcGIS (Pro) use at the intermediate or higher level, with emphasis put on: usage of spatial database, analysis and visualization of spatial data. Required knowledge concerning: - remote sensing (image databases, basics concepts and basics of digital image processing) - acquisition of spatial data from external sources (including spatial databases) - visualization of quantitative and qualitative data, - basic knowledge on thematic cartography and common thematic map types. |

Course 1. Data acquisition and display - 12h (ĆW) Content Raster and vector databases Acquisition of free multispectral satellite data, including Landsat and Sentinel. Basics of analysis and data display. Course 2. Data processing and visualization - 34 h (ĆW) Content Preprocessing of satellite data. Quantitative and qualitative analyses: calculation of remote sensing indicators, basics of image classification. Introduction to map graphics Color use in thematic mapping Common map types Course 3. Change detection analysis and thematic mapping - 44 h (ĆW) Content Qualitative and quantitative analysis of changes in satellite images Visual hierarchy in maps Multivariate thematic mapping Design map layout Execution and presentation of the projects conducted individually by each participant. |
